Your files stay yours.

This policy explains what FilePicnic processes, why it is needed, and the controls available to you and your workspace owner.

Effective 27 October 2026

1. What FilePicnic is

FilePicnic is a collaborative workspace application. It lets people create workspaces, invite members, upload and review files, and store those files in the workspace owner's Google Drive.

2. Information we process

We process account details supplied through our identity provider, such as your name, verified email address, profile image, account identifier, and session information. We also process workspace names, membership roles, invitations, file metadata, review notes, notifications, upload activity, and operational diagnostics.

File contents are stored in the workspace owner's Google Drive. FilePicnic transfers uploads and serves permitted previews or downloads so the requested feature can work, but it does not intentionally keep a permanent second copy of those files.

3. Google account and Drive data

Connecting Google Drive is separate from signing into FilePicnic. When an owner connects Drive, FilePicnic requests the limited drive.file permission so it can create and manage files and folders created through FilePicnic. OAuth refresh credentials are encrypted and kept on trusted server infrastructure; they are never returned to workspace members.

FilePicnic's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. How information is used

  • Authenticate users and protect workspace access.
  • Create and operate owner-backed Google Drive workspaces.
  • Apply roles, invitations, reviews, notifications, and file actions.
  • Prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and maintain service security.
  • Meet legal obligations and enforce the Terms of Service.

We do not sell personal information or use Google user data for advertising.

5. Service providers and sharing

Information is shared only as needed with infrastructure providers that support authentication, hosting, databases, security, and Google Drive operations. Workspace information is also visible to authorized members according to their assigned role. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect users, the service, or the public.

6. Retention and deletion

Workspace metadata is retained while it is needed to provide the service. Removing a member ends their FilePicnic access but does not delete files they previously added to the owner's Drive. Deleting a workspace through FilePicnic moves its backing Drive folder to Google Drive Trash and removes the corresponding application records, subject to backup and legal retention periods.

You can revoke FilePicnic's Google access from your Google Account. For account-level privacy or deletion requests, use the support contact displayed on FilePicnic's Google OAuth consent screen.

7. Security

We use access controls, encrypted credential storage, HTTPS, server-side authorization, and scoped provider permissions. No online service can promise absolute security, so workspace owners should grant access only to people they trust.

8. Children

FilePicnic is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where local law requires it, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

9. Changes and questions

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Privacy questions can be sent to the support contact shown on the FilePicnic OAuth consent screen.
